How I work

I’m Stijn Smit. Through STN Studio, I help teams move from isolated AI experiments to workflows and systems that actually stick.

Technology is rarely the only challenge. The real work is deciding where AI creates value, bringing people into a new way of working, and building something reliable enough to use every day.

That is why I work hands-on with the people who know the process. During consultancy, I map opportunities directly. When a use case is strong enough, I turn it into an agent, automation, or AI-native product, such as a chatbot that answers from your own sources or a dashboard that provides control over model usage.

Back to Being: 120 km and building for MIND.

On 23 August, we walk from Tui to Santiago. Preparations are already well underway; along the route, we will build an AI tool for mental health and hand it over to MIND. No office, no meetings: just the path and the code.

My principle

Practical over spectacular.

A solution does not need as much AI as possible. It needs to solve a clear problem, remain controllable, and fit the people who use it. If it cannot do that, it does not belong in production.

STN Studio combines advice and building. An engagement does not stop at knowledge, and a build never starts without understanding the real process.
